Short biography | Polyxeni Malisova is a Phd candidate at the Department of History and Philosophy of Science of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She holds a Diploma in mechanical engineering from National Technical University of Athens and an MA (2018) in History and Philosophy of Science and Technology, offered jointly by the Department of History and Philosophy of Science, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the National Technical University of Athens. Her Master Thesis covered several case studies and aspects (the division of labour, the gendered distinctions imprinted on the process of mechanization etc.) of the introduction of punched card machinery in Greece between 1920 and 1970. Her dissertation aims to study the introduction of census machinery in Greece, between 1920 and 1950, the very process of the census and how population censuses acted as a force for the homogenization of the country. |
