Short biography | I am a historian of science and technology, specializing in the Ottoman Empire and modern Turkey, with a focus on how scientific and technological developments intersect with broader social, political, and environmental processes. My research is guided by theoretical and methodological frameworks within transnational history particularly at the intersections of global capitalism, nationalism, ethnicity, labor, the environment, and material cultures. These lenses enable me to explore the complex ways in which scientific knowledge and technological practices shape and are shaped by historical contexts. |
