Fifth Tensions of Europe conference

3 October - 4 October 2012
Location: Copenhagen (Denmark)
Organizer: Foundation for the History of Technology & Lars Heide

The fifth Tensions of Europe conference will take place on Wednesday and Thursday 3-4 October, 2012, prior to the Annual Meeting of SHOT in Copenhagen, Denmark (4-7 October). The Foundation for the History of Technology will organize the event, in collaboration with Lars Heide, this year’s organizer of the Annual Meeting of SHOT. The conference starts on Wednesday afternoon (3 p.m.) and ends on Thursday afternoon (4 p.m.), before the opening of the Annual Meeting of SHOT. On Friday evening a Tensions of Europe party will be organized, in collaboration with SHOT!

On the program are the Making Europe book series and the future of Tensions of Europe. In plenary meetings and parallel sessions, the six volumes of the book series will be discussed. In that sense the conference is a prelude to the presentation of the first books in Paris in 2013. Besides that, six selected proposals for ToE future initiatives will be presented and discussed.
